I recall very little shedding when I started Proscar. I’m still on it I divide the tablets in quarters, one per day. I have not not only kept the hair I have but have grown hair in previously bald areas. I’ve been on it now since 1997. Much cheaper than propecia and does the same thing. I also use Nizoral shampoo and that not only thickens the hair, but it grows some hair as well. I also started using Rogaine 5% and it is amazing, as the frontal line is filling in.

I pay about $67.00 for Proscar and it lasts for 120 days. Nizoral, no presciption required in Canada for 2% strength I pay about $13.00 per month. I pay $72.56 for Minoxidil/Rogaine for a two month supply from a pharmacy at Women’s College Hospital Pharmacy. Phone # for the pharmacy is 416-323-6250. I want to write that Rogaine 5% is not yet available in Canada, but a lot of doctors will prescribe it and that is the best deal in town.

The aforementioned treatments work extremely well for me and I wish you the best. However, it takes time for anything to work and if you expect any growth in less than six months, I don’t think you are being realistic.

Yours,

J

Question, did you use the rogaine and proscar at the same time? Because I know the hair has some kind of chronological time in which it sheds, and somehow propecia and rogaine makes all the hairs shed at the same time, even though they have diff times of shedding. I already started on proscar and want to get on rogaine – but I don’t want to go through two sheddings. I’m doing alright for now and I don’t want to jinx it.
