Does anybody know if pycnogenol is beneficial in combating hair loss?

failure873 – Pycnogenol works for a lot of things, but in my case and my girlfriend for that matter. Pycnogenol causes both of us to break out on the forehead.

I believe it does this by stimulating the production of NO (Nitric oxide), and being that it promotes angiogenesis, it gives you too much VEGF. So it seems to give you more of what you don’t want.

Whether this will do this for others is anyone’s guess, because normally Pycnogenol is very therapeutic (or other conditions).

So, it can cause hair loss? Also, how much do you and your girlfriend take?

I developed painful pimples on my scalp, so I stopped using it after a month (or two).

failure873 – I second The Natural, that’s exactly what happened to me and my gf for that matter.

I didn’t use it long enough to see what it did for hair but that scalp acne had to go.

It’s one of the best supplements you can take.

However, from my understanding, grape seed extract is EXACTLY the same thing but since it’s extracted from seeds instead of pine bark it’s much much cheaper.

I’m surprised no-one has brought up the 72 hours in the bloodstream(or at least lasts for 72 hours) that someone mentioned in the past. I thought that was supposed to be a major plus…something with that much staying power No wonder it’s trying to burst out of your foreheads. Take it every few days instead.

Bob…Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm naturally.

Even though both grapeseed extract and pycnogenol have opcs, they are quite different.

If your circulation isn’t so hot, then pycnogenol is a great substance. But b/c it seems to increase VEGF strongly, it results in forehead acne. I have heard this from more than just me.

LOL you say, I say fuck you.

The reason Pycnogenol does this is the nitric oxide effect, too much of a good thing if your circulation is good.

If your circulation is poor, pycnogenol is amazing. For chronic vein sufficiency high doses are highly recommended.

If you’re young and your circulation is good, you might get forehead acne.
