FK506 is an immunosuppressant, like cyclosporin, primarily used to prevent organ rejection. Like Cyclosporin, it also has hair growth effects; however, unlike cyclosporin, it is more effective topically for hair growth than orally, making it a better choice than cyclosporin. Unfortunately, like cyclosporin, it also has the potential for serve side effects and is not to be used lightly.
