Bausch & Laumb distributes a 2% Minoxidil formula that can be found in several grocery store or drug store chains.  It is a fairly cheap brand, costing between $8 and $11 per bottle depending on location, quantity, and sale price.   They have single bottle as well as two bottle packs.  This package only comes with a dropper, but is of apparently high quality.  I used it for several months before starting Minoxidil 5% and I have no complaints.  It is a good alternative if its available and you can't get a brand like Equate.
